Explore the Beautiful Danube Gorge from Arad

I invite you to visit one of the most beautiful parts of the Danube: the Danube Gorge.

Have you heard of Decebal, the last king of Dacia? Or Trajan, the Roman emperor? Well, the Danube was the border between Dacia and the Roman Empire. This place is steeped in history and has ancient evidence such as the Tabula Traiana. Here you will also find the sculpture of King Decebal, the tallest mountain sculpture in Europe.

Between May and October, you'll explore a wild cave and enjoy a boat ride in the gorge. In October-May, I'll take you on another route along the river banks, where we'll visit some hidden waterfalls near Moldova Noua. Whatever the season, you will be able to see the beautiful cliffs, walk above the gorge and admire the statue of King Decebal.

Itinerary:
- we will pick you up from your hotel in Timișoara.
- depending on the season, we will drive on different routes to the Danube gorge. (about 3 hours with stops);
- we will have a full day of photo stops, walk over the gorge;
- stop at the statue of King Decebal;
- hidden waterfalls near Moldova Noua (October - May);
- wild cave and Ponicova boat ride (May - October);
- return to the departure point.

Departure points: Arad or Timișoara. The hike on Ciucaru Mare Peak is easy (2 hours). Ponicova Cave is not arranged for tourists, but is accessible. Requires a minimum physical condition and appropriate hiking shoes.

The boat ride and the visit of the Ponicova cave can only be done between May and October.
