Road Trip to Vârghiș Gorges and Cheese Tasting in Mrești Village

Have a rest in the middle of nature, away from the bustle of the city, discover Vârghiș Gorges, the hidden gem between Harghita and Perșani Mountains. With the help of a professional guide, along the 4 km route, you will discover natural miracles hidden in colossal cliffs.

Crossing suspended bridges, you can visit more than 100 caves, including the famous Meresti Cave, one of the longest caverns in the Eastern Carpathians, housing many living creatures, the main ones being the bats.

At Meresti village (75km from Sighisoara, 85km from Brasov), you will meet your guide and you will reach the northern entrance of the gorge on forest roads. You will learn about the canyon formation, you will find out the myths and legends about this fabulous place and you will discover caves with invertebrates and impressive bats colonies.

After the route, you can visit a local family and their cheese-making workshop where you can taste traditional products.
