Kayak Ride in Parcheș - Danube Delta

Parches is a village in Somova commune, Tulcea County. We invite you to join us on a kayaking tour in this part of Dobrogea, also known as the Upper Danube Delta.

Parches – Somova Tour
We’ll meet on Saturday by the lake in Parches village. After a brief introduction to the excursion, we’ll go over paddling and steering basics. Then, we’ll set our kayaks on the water and embark on our journey.

This kayak tour is particularly beautiful, as we drift among water lilies and relax in a charming landscape. We’ll paddle through narrow channels without the worry of motorboats, enjoying and photographing birds and scenery. In the evening, we’ll gather in the tent camp to play guitar and unwind.

After approximately 3 hours of paddling, we’ll return to set up our tents by the lake. We’ll gather firewood and prepare for the evening. Then, we’ll hop back in the kayaks and head out to Parches Lake to watch the sunset. That night, we’ll sleep in tents under a starlit sky, listening to the crickets and the frogs’ nightly concert. We’ll share stories and guitar songs by the fire late into the night.
*Tent and sleeping pad rental is available at 50 lei per person for the entire period. Due to practical reasons, please bring your own sleeping bag.

The next day brings a new kayaking outing on Parches Lake. We’ll paddle roughly 10 kilometers through weeping willows, water lilies, and reeds. Every minute spent here will be well worth it, as the scenic beauty of this area of the Danube Delta is both relaxing and energizing.

As the kayak tour wraps up, we’ll return to our cars, say our farewells, and head home.

Included: kayak, life jacket, paddle, and photos. Other camping equipment, such as a solar charger for phones and hammocks, will also be available.

Transportation is not provided, but we’ll try to arrange options for those without transport. Accommodation is also available at nearby guesthouses, though advance booking is necessary.
