Sound massage is based on ancient knowledge. Based on the effects of sounds used in Indian healing methods more than 5000 years ago.
According to ancient legends of Eastern wisdom, man was created from sound, therefore he is sound.
Also, according to Aboriginal belief, the earth and everything in it was 'sung' to life. When a person is 'in tune' with himself and his environment, he is able to organise his life freely and creatively. A sound therapy treatment is both a passive and participatory experience. The passive aspect is that you become more relaxed by stretching and slowing down your breathing. By doing this, you prepare yourself to become the receiver of sound. In this place of stillness you participate, becoming more open and aware of every sound that comes in. Sound helps create the path to this place of stillness, just as a mantra helps you reach the still point of meditation.
Some of the instruments we use are voice, drums, metal or crystal singing bowls. It is important to remember that awareness plays an important role in our own healing. Vocal toning is an incredibly powerful practice that gives us the ability to tune our greatest vibrational instrument: our own body. We always encourage clients to incorporate simple, yet effective breathing exercises and vocal toning exercises into their daily routine to help bring a greater sense of balance into their lives. Sound baths help facilitate changes in brainwave state through the use of entrainment. Entrainment synchronizes our fluctuating brainwaves, providing a stable frequency at which brainwaves can tune in. Using rhythm and frequency, we can train our brainwaves and then it becomes possible to reduce our normal beta state (normal waking consciousness) to alpha (relaxed consciousness) and even reach theta (meditative state) and delta (sleep; where internal healing can take place). If we are able to change our perspective, we can change our relationship to the problem that may be preventing us from experiencing optimal homeostasis.
Sound not only helps induce relaxation, but also has a way of getting through blocked areas. These areas of energetic blockage can be located in our physical bodies, our subtle bodies, or both. Using sound as therapy can provide results for a variety of issues including: sleep disorders, anxiety, depression, stress management, PTSD or pain management.
