One Day in Transfăgărășan from Bucharest

Your tour will start early in the morning after your guide will pick you up from the accommodation to start your journey through Fagaras, the highest mountains in Romania.

Route: Bucharest-Curtea de Arges Monastery - Poenari Castle - Vidraru Dam – Transfagarasan - Balea Lake - Bucharest.

Curtea de Argeș Monastery is the place where Medieval Mason Manole cemented his wife, Ana, in the foundation of the building, as a gift to God. The monastery was completed in 1517, after 5 years of work, and today serves as the necropolis of the Romanian Royal family.

Then you will make a road trip on a magnificent route to Poenari Castle that was built between the 13th and 14th centuries but was soon abandoned.

Close to the castle, there is one of the highest dams in Europe, the Vidraru dam, over 160 meters high, where we will stop to enjoy the beautiful landscape.

The last part of the tour is the long-awaited road trip on Transfagarasan. Seen by Jeremy Clarkson as a road where you can find every race track in the world.

Going out of Transfagarasan, we will reach the northeast point of the tour, Balea Lake. After a short hiking near the lake, we will head to Bucharest.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.
