Initiation in Rock Climbing on Turzii Gorges - Cluj

Rock climbing is a unique sport that requires concentration and physical strength. During this 4-week course, you will learn techniques to climb safely while enjoying some of the most beautiful and exciting climbing spots in the Turzii Gorges.

In the first week, we will learn how to tie a figure 8 knot. The second week includes information on: spinning the rope head and building the anchor (top) for sport climbing:
- bolted anchors (2 carabiners/ equipped mallions);
- top with 2 anchors/ ropes on the same line (2 equipped mallions in opposition);
- top with 2 anchors/bolts at different heights (2 equipped mallions in opposition and of different lengths or using the sling and the 8 knot). In the third week, we will learn how to equip and un-equip for a route, and in the last week we will abseil (extension, redundancy/back-up systems).

The number of participants required for this course is 4 people (so that 2 teams are formed).

The sessions are generally held on Tuesdays and the duration of a session is 3 hours. Departure will be at 17:00 from Cluj-Napoca.

In case of unfavourable weather conditions the course will be postponed to another day to be determined later.
