Sibiu – European Capital of Culture 2007 from Brașov

Sibiu was the largest medieval town in Transylvania and the European Capital of Culture in 2007.

Sibiu is home to the first hospital in Romania (1292), the first pharmacy (1494) and the oldest museum in Romania, the Brukenthal Museum.

Walking tour - Time to enjoy the pedestrian areas of the old town Big Square - Haller House - Brukenthal Museum - Town Hall - Catholic Church - Council Tower - Small Square with the „Eyes of the City“ - Luxemburg House - Pharmacy Museum - Liars` Bridge - Huet Square - Evangelic Church – Stairs Passage - „The Lower City“ - Orthodox Cathedral - Citadel wall with the 3 towers - Thalia Hall - Schiller Square - The General`s Tunnel – end of the tour in the Big Square.

Visit Astra open air village museum that spreads across a 96-ha area of which an area of 40-ha is covered by the permanent exhibition which is the largest open air ethnographic exhibition in Europe. The museum hosts original monuments representative for the values of the Romanian village.
