New Year's Eve in Thailand

Next winter we return to the Land of Smiles to spend New Year’s Eve 2026 on a catamaran in the paradise of the Gulf of Thailand!

If you’ve never been to Thailand, get ready to become irreversibly addicted to the serenity and hospitality of the people, the culinary delirium you'll experience at every step, the landscapes rarely found elsewhere on this planet, a diverse and ever-fascinating culture (even after multiple visits), and most of all, the way your senses are assaulted and stimulated like nowhere else!

We will travel to one of the most beautiful areas of Thailand: the Koh Chang archipelago.


🟢 I T I N E R A R Y
👉 Sunday, December 28
We will arrive in Koh Chang. The journey from Bangkok by bus/minivan and ferry will take approximately 6 hours.
We will enjoy the beaches in the north-west of the island on the first day and sleep one night in a hotel.

👉 Monday, December 29
We will do the provisioning for the week on the boat at local shops.
We travel by taxi to the marina in the south of Koh Chang island.
We take over the boats by 3:00 PM at the latest, check in, and load the supplies on board.
We sail to Koh Wai island (one hour of sailing) where the dream vacation officially begins!

👉 Tuesday, December 30
We sail to the Koh Rang natural reserve.
We spend the whole day snorkeling in one of the most beautiful underwater paradises!
We overnight at a mooring near the beach in the south of the island.

👉 Wednesday, December 31
We sail to Koh Mak.
We stop during the day at Koh Kham pier.
We anchor at a mooring buoy near Koh Mak.
We go to the beach, where we can eat at a restaurant.
At night, we celebrate New Year’s Eve like never before!

👉 Thursday, January 1
We sail to Koh Kood.
We stop for snorkeling near Koh Raet.
We go up the river with the dinghy to Khlong Yai Kee waterfall where we can have fun as much as we want.
We return to the boat and overnight in the northwest of Koh Kood.

👉 Friday, January 2
We go up the river with the dinghy to Khlong Chao waterfall.
We explore the resort beaches on the west of Koh Kood, we can eat on the shore, chill at a bar, get a beach massage – relaxation for the rest of the day.
We overnight in a bay in the southwest of the island.

👉 Saturday, January 3
We continue circling Koh Kood on the eastern side.
We stop in fishing villages.
We eat delicacies found only here, buy fish for the BBQ on the boat.
In the evening, we return to Koh Mak, this time on the eastern side.
We can go to a restaurant on shore and restock supplies.

👉 Sunday, January 4
We return to the Koh Chang marina.
During the day, we explore Koh Ngam.
If you miss the underwater paradise, we can stop again in Koh Rang.
We eat at a local restaurant and spend the last night on the boat in the marina.

👉 Monday, January 5
We leave the boat, travel by taxi to the northern port of the island.
We take the ferry to the mainland and return to Bangkok by minivan.

! Notes:
During this trip we will spend a lot of time in nature, anchoring in bays.
On the islands of the Koh Chang archipelago there are no ports or marinas where we can dock, but they have a good infrastructure of mooring buoys where we can safely overnight.
The large islands are inhabited (except for Koh Rang), so in many of the places we will visit, there are local villages, tourist resorts, beach bars, restaurants, shops.
Therefore, even if we’ll anchor or moor, we will usually be close to human settlements where we can experience the extraordinary Thai hospitality, and the comfort of the catamaran will make you forget the need for docking in a port!

Temple tour in Bangkok: Grand Palace, Wat Arun, and others.

👉 Wednesday, January 7
Tour to the floating markets of Damnoen Saduak and Mae Klong Train Market.

👉 Thursday, January 8
Tour to Ayutthaya – the former capital of Thailand with lots of historical temples.

👉 Friday, January 9
Visit to an elephant sanctuary.

Anyone who wants an active, exotic vacation on a boat, through the islands of Thailand full of culture and traditions, with wonderful people and unforgettable experiences.
No previous experience on a boat, swimming, etc. is necessary. We have activities for everyone and can teach you anything from scratch.


🟢 G U I D A N C E
The skippers are Romanian and hold RYA and ICC recreational boating licenses (categories C, D, S) and have gained sailing experience during numerous sea and ocean trips in recent years.
We offer assistance and organization for the trip to Thailand, round trip.
We recommend staying with us in Thailand the week following the sailing trip, to spend a few days in the fantastic city of Bangkok and its surroundings!


🟢 T R A N S P O R T
✈️ The most advantageous way to get to Bangkok from Romania is by flying from Bucharest or Budapest (from €500).

🇨🇷 V I S A: Romanian citizens can receive a free visa upon entry to Thailand for a 30-day stay. A tourist visa can also be applied for in advance (valid for 3 months).

🌞 W E A T H E R: In the peak tourist season we’ll be in Thailand, the usual air and water temperature during the day is around 30°C.
As it is the dry season, rains are very rare and resemble summer showers in Romania.

We will sleep on sailing catamarans, in 1–2 person cabins, with 2–3 bathrooms with showers, kitchen + living room (salon).
