Us Against Ourselves is an artistic "date" designed and coordinated for any kind of duo (parent/child, couple, friends, partners, etc.) willing to put their relationship to the test for one hour, away from the routine.
This one-to-two performance is open to both pairs with no artistic background and artistically inclined duos or creatives. The artist offers a journey where text, words, drawing, and modeling—created together—spark spontaneous reactions. In this relaxed, rule-free environment, the artist aims to uncover new ways of expressing emotions, thoughts, and states, both personal and shared.
Each performance creates a space where two people can meet beyond their daily routine, exploring a different reality outside their shared comfort zone.
Us Against Ourselves is a series of anti-conflict experiences that challenge participating pairs to discover new ways of perceiving each other. Ultimately, it nurtures greater sensitivity and transforms us into more effective, present social beings.
This unique experience consists of a series of guided instructions. First, you and your partner will embark on a contemplative exercise to cultivate presence, followed by a "twin hearts" meditation that heightens awareness of each other. Then, you’ll write prompts about your thoughts and feelings, which will evolve into spoken words. You will draw your partner (and with your partner) from three different bodily positions that reflect your relationship, and alternately, you’ll create light movement tasks where you will engage with each other in new, physical ways.
Dive into new parameters of engagement that explore love, connection, social norms, ritual, and everything in between, where you’ll play with imagination, perception, and memory in a lighthearted and fun manner.
Come and discover how to see, hear, and feel your partner anew, creating a fresh map of the unexplored yet present territories of your shared intimacy.
